Description

Choc chip muffin recipe with easy-to-follow steps for perfect and fluffy muffins every time.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • ½ cup melted unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or grease lightly.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  4. In another bowl, combine sugar, eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract.
  5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Fill muffin cups 2/3 full with batter.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean. If you opted for mini muffins, the baking time becomes 8-10 minutes.
  9. Cool muffins on a wire rack.

Notes

Extra chocolate chips do not hurt the recipe. Feel free.

Regular chocolate chips will add more sweetness to the muffins. You may want to adjust the sugar a bit.

Plain yogurt or Greek yogurt can replace the milk, but reduce the amount to 3/4 cup.T This also adds extra moisture.

Replace granulated sugar with half a cup white sugar and half a cup brown sugar for extra richness.
