- 500g ground beef, with 20% fat
- 1 medium-sized onion, chopped finely
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
- dried herbs or your choice
- chopped parsley (optional)

- 3 slices cheese (your choice, I use mature cheddar)
- lettuce leaves, torn (I love the curly rocket type or iceberg lettuce)
- 1 tomato, sliced
- Choice of condiments (my kids are happy with ketchup and mustard
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix all patty ingredients and seasoning.
- Divide the beef mixture into four equal parts then shape them into patties.
