Ground chicken recipes are my savior when I am either in a hurry or lazy.  When we have an abundance of vegetables in the fridge, ground chicken recipes come to the rescue as well. Easy and tasty.  Isn’t that what all of us wish to have – quick, easy and tasty recipes?  There you have it, this is another one for keeps! Pleasant combination of protein and vegetables in less than half an hour. You can enjoy it with steamed white rice, fried rice, or even… cauliflower rice… more on this here.

Broccoli and cauliflower are perfect with ground chicken

I wanted to talk about ground chicken recipes. This post has broccoli as my choice of veggie. Ground chicken with broccoli is ground chicken with vegetable, right?  Yeah, that is philosophically right.  I featured this recipe with my cauliflower rice post. These two veggies have their own origins in my mother’s kitchen and mine where broccoli inherited the original recipe for cauliflower because the latter has graduated to becoming rice. LOL!

…and perfect for other vegetables as well

This ground chicken recipe is versatile for it goes well with many choices of vegetables or a combination of them, like:

  • carrots
  • green beans
  • snow peas
  • cauliflower
  • cabbage
  • bell peppers
  • zucchini

You can use the same recipe for ground chicken for any of these vegetables or a combination of any two, or three or all. No fail!

What you would uniformly need are:

  • Cooking oil
  • Onion and garlic
  • Tomatoes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Water

Ground chicken with vegetables

Ground Chicken with Broccoli


  • 250 g minced chicken (or chicken breast, cut up)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 small-sized onion (chopped)
  • 2 tbsps cooking oil
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 head broccoli (cut up)
  • ½ cup water


  1. Sautee garlic and onion in cooking oil for a couple of minutes.
  2. Add chicken breast and cook stirring until the juices come out.
  3. Add broccoli. Stir for a couple of minutes.
  4. Add salt, pepper and water and simmer till vegetables are done.
