Tina’s Buttered Garlic Shrimp

Tina’s Buttered Garlic Shrimp

Garlic butter shrimp

The garlic butter shrimp recipe from my mom is already a treat for me and my siblings! When we were growing up, we simply steam shrimps with a little kosher salt over medium heat, and then we drizzle with cooking oil at the last minute of steaming. Ready to be served with rice and our favorite vegetables – either fresh vegetables, aka vegetable salad, or cooked mixed vegetables.

This steaming process is similar to the recipe we are sharing with you here. We are replacing cooking oil with unsalted butter and adding minced garlic and black pepper to the recipe and a drizzle of fresh lemon juice before serving and presto! A treat reinvented!

My Bestie Tina who claims that she does not know how to cook has a recipe here that I would share with you. Find out the extra ingredient!

Ingredients for garlic butter shrimp recipe

Let me enumerate the ingredients which I had already mentioned above here:

  • Fresh shrimps
  • unsalted butter (or olive oil)
  • ground black pepper
  • kosher salt
  • minced fresh herbs

How to cook garlic butter shrimps

This is one of the easiest garlic butter shrimp recipes you would ever find. By readying all the ingredients, all you need to do is sautee them one by one over medium heat or medium-high heat in this order: butter, garlic, shrimps, salt, ground black pepper. Done. This takes about 15 minutes! Isn’t that easy?

In this photo below, I included some sliced tomatoes as another option. This is not necessary. However, my purpose was to add a little sauce to the dish, which my husband prefers.

Storing left-over garlic butter shrimp

Leftovers can be stored in a tight-lid container in the fridge for a few days. Reheat them in the microwave or a saucepan for a few minutes and serve as is.  You can also transfer this dish in a Pyrex ware and heat in a conventional oven for about 10 minutes over medium heat.
